Judy Duarte always thought there was a book inside her, but since English was her least favorite subject in school, she never considered herself a writer. An avid reader who enjoys a happy ending, Judy couldn’t shake her dream of creating a story of her own. So one day, she decided to make her dream come true. Five years and six manuscripts later, she sold her first book to Silhouette Special Edition. Her unpublished stories have won the Emily and the Orange Rose. And in 2001, she became a double Golden Heart finalist. COWBOY COURAGE, Judy’s first book, hit the shelves in March of 2002. Since then, she has sold nine other books to Silhouette Special Edition, including three continuities and DOUBLE DESTINY, a 2-in-1 single title she wrote with her friend and critique partner, Crystal Green. Judy makes her home near the beach in Southern California with her husband, their son and a cat named Mom."It gets a bit confusing,"she admits, "especially when the cat decides to curl up in a secluded cubby hole and hide. I'm not sure what the neighbors think when my son walks up and down the street calling for Mom."
